Charlotte and Liz Radford get their nails done by Henleaze youth group members
Charlotte Leslie has congratulated young people raising funds for their new youth group at Henleaze Community Fair, held on Saturday 27th June, 2009.
Charlotte said,
“I would like to thank everybody who put so much hard work into making St.Peter’s Community Fair, Henleaze, such a huge success. It is only the third year the event has been run, but thanks to superb organisation and great commitment from people who work so hard behind the scenes, it already feels like an established part of the Henleaze calendar. The entire church and church hall were taken over by stalls from local crafts-people and charities as well as bric-a-brac and cakes. Much of the funds raised goes straight back into the community, as well as supporting charities working in the third world.
I would particularly like to congratulate the young people manning the nail-painting stall , pictured above. They managed to raise an astonishing £100 for the new Henleaze Youth Group, being set up by Liz Radford. It was particularly good to see young people getting involved, taking the initiative and raising money for their own community venture – and it just shows what can be achieved with some nail varnish and a bit of flair! A big well done and thanks to all involved.”
