With the support of Charlotte Leslie, The National Smelting Boxing Club in Avonmouth has managed to gain funds to build a badly needed gym extension.

The club coach, Garry Cave, says more space is desperately needed to meet local demand. Charlotte will be working with a team, including the Boxing Club, to open up opportunities for more young people to benefit from boxing training in local schools.

Charlotte said:

“Many young people are bursting with energy but have no outlet. Sadly, much of this energy turns into anti-social behaviour. Garry does inspirational work in training these young men in boxing, discipline and respect. I will also be working with clubs like the Southmead Boxing Club, to make sure that more young people are given the opportunity to get fit, become disciplined and focused and enjoy taking part in something that the young people find to be a positive experience. Boxing sessions take place every Tuesday and Thursday.
